SUMMER Internship
The 12Stone Church Summer Internship is a 10-week immersive ministry experience designed to give each participant hands on ministry ownership as well as personal coaching and development.
Each summer intern will be deeply involved in the execution of both Wednesday and Sunday ministry environments across the campuses of 12Stone Church. While each intern will gain valuable experience across ministry areas, each intern will choose one of three focuses for their 10-week experience.
Those focuses are:
- Student Ministry
- Children’s Ministry
- Spiritual Formation
4 core
There is no better way to grow passion for the local church than to experience the work needed to serve and grow the church. Each intern will gain real ministry experience and ownership over the course of their 10 weeks. All interns will participate in student ministry, as well as in the planning, leading, and execution of CAMP, our summer student ministry conference. In addition, each intern will also be able to choose a Sunday ministry focus in children’s ministry, spiritual formation, or a combination of both ministry areas.
While ministry experience and skill development is critical to effectively lead in the church, the groundwork to deepen character and grow in relationship with Jesus is essential for a lifetime of service and calling to the Kingdom. Each intern will regularly engage in one-on-ones with a 12Stone pastor who will serve as their coach in beginning the journey toward.
The Pastoral Leadership Curriculum is unpacked during a weekly training meeting and gives valuable insight into different types of pastoral leadership. The curriculum covers Self Leadership, Relational Leadership, and Organizational Leadership.

The 12Stone Summer Internship is intended primarily for individuals concluding their sophomore or junior year of college that are hoping to grow their passion and skill to serve the local church. These individuals will possess a high leadership capacity, the ability to win relationally, and a demonstrated desire to learn and grow.
The Internship is 10 weeks long, beginning May 26th and concluding August 3rd. A typical work week will include 20-25 hours of ministry and developmental experience. Each intern will also have critical roles in the planning and execution of CAMP (a 12Stone student ministry conference serving approximately 1300 students and 700 adults).
Non-local residents will be housed in host homes provided by carefully vetted volunteers from the 12Stone church family. These families will live within close proximity to the campus where the intern will be serving and will serve as a “home away from home” for our interns.
There is the possibility to pursue part-time employment outside of the internship provided it is understood that the internship schedule and responsibilities remains the top priority.
Transportation will not be provided, and it is expected that you have a working vehicle for the duration of the internship.
No, this internship program is currently unpaid and on a voluntary basis. Interns are not employees or independent contractors. No wages, insurance, or other compensatory benefits will be provided. There will be an opportunity to receive a $5000 scholarship for 3-5 interns at the conclusion of the summer.
