LIVE YOUR
CALLING!
The
Residency
The Residency at 12Stone Church is a 2-year pastoral leadership development program that provides side-by-side ministry coaching so that the resident is equipped to fulfill their vocational ministry calling for a lifetime.
Residents at 12Stone Church are fully immersed in day-to-day ministry of the church, serving as a member of a department or campus team, attending department meetings, and carrying real time ministry weight and pressure.
However, development is the driver for all decisions made in the program. Keeping development as the primary goal (as opposed to ministry pressure) ensures that the growth of the resident to fulfill a career calling remains the most important factor for what the resident is doing. To ensure that development remains the primary focus, the program is structured to move through three developmental phases. Practically, the two-year residency is structured in three distinct phases.

environments
In addition to the three phases, residents also experience development in many other environments. These environments include, but are not limited to:
-
RESIDENT MEETING
All residents meet each week on Thursday morning for 2 hours. The primary purpose of the meeting is developmental teaching that covers content touching on one of three key areas: ministry skill development, leadership development, or personal/spiritual development.
-
COACHING ONE-ON-ONES
The resident meets with their coach (a 12Stone staff member that is a current pastoral practitioner in the ministry area the resident is pursuing) each week for one hour. The purpose of the one-on-one is to give hands on development in both what the resident is doing as well as in who the resident is becoming.
-
CAMPUS MEETINGS
The residents are an active part of the campus team and are included in all campus meetings. This allows them to have a front row seat as to how the different ministries within the church work together and serve each other. It provides them a holistic view of church ministry rather than being siloed into only one ministry area.
-
ALL STAFF
Residents participate in our monthly all-staff meetings. This allows them the chance to learn about church-wide initiatives, vision casting, and what it looks like to help a large, diverse staff team move in one aligned direction.
